Purgo's Technology
Purgo Pouch consists of a rate-controlled membrane that allows for passive diffusion of antibiotic over a concentration gradient, no pumps or batteries required. The pouch is attached to a catheter that is exteriorized prior to wound closure to allow for dosing. Every 24 hours, the residual fluid in the pouch is removed and fresh antibiotics are placed inside the pouch for up to 30 days. When treatment is complete the pouch is completely emptied and removed out of the exteriorization site just like a surgical drain.
